The Race

The Moab Epic is more an adventure than a race. The best Single Track, Slick Rock and Desert Riding Moab has to offer. It's your race, you get to choose the route. Reach as many of the Checkpoints in the time allowed for one Epic Adventure!

This is your hunting ground. The most Epic riding Moab has to offer, including the Magnificent 7 and Moab Brands Trail networks. Checkpoints will be pre-plotted along the trails and roads of this map. You reach as many of the Checkpoints, in any order, in under 8 or 5 hours, respectively. The race is as long or as short as you make it, about 50 or 20 miles for each course... give our take. Click this slide for a larger image of the map.

Directions:
Bar-M Trailhead:  Check-in and the Start/Finish is at the Bar M Trailhead. From the north, exit I-70 at Crescent Junction and drive south on US-191 for 22 miles. From Moab, drive 7 miles north from the Colorado River on 191. When you see the Gemini Bridges parking area, look for a gravel road on the opposite side (east, away from the cliffs). Turn onto the gravel road and immediately go right. Drive past the first parking lot.As you approach the fence and kiosk at the paved trail, turn left and drive 1/4 mile to the gravel parking lot in the bottom of the valley. (View Map)

Two distances to choose from:

  • ~50 Miles – Up to 8 hours to reach as many CP’s as possible – Approximate Elevation Gain/Loss = 3500′
  • ~20 Miles – Up to 5 hours to reach as many CP’s as possible – Approximate Elevation Gain/Loss = 1500′

Epic Moab trails; Magnificent 7 Trail network, Moab Brands trail network. Reach as many of the Checkpoints, in any order. You choose your route! It’s your Adventure!

Event Waiver:

Race Support

This is a self-supported race (meaning you carry what you need with you for your race).  You will be given a map of the course and you will need to reach as many of the course Checkpoints as you can and punch your “passport”. Riders will be able to use their vehicle for support as the start/finish is centrally located for the event. You can re-supply out of your vehicle for food and water replenishment. Riders MUST carry enough food and water to get you through at least 30+ miles of riding for the 50 mile course, and at least 10+ miles of riding for the 20 mile course. Come Prepaired!

  • Hydration System (Camelback/Water Bottles, etc)
  • Cell Phone (Fully Charged for the day)
  • Event provided Topo Map and Passport

  • Bike Tools / Tubes / Pump / Multi-Tool
  • Compass

  • Small First Aid Kit
